There are few riffs as iconic as that from “Enter Sandman” by Metallica. It’s one of those unforgettable series
of notes that just sticks with you. So in this episode of Riffin’ Through Time, we’re joined by DJ Temple to
learn the main riff!
This riff is fairly easy, and playing it doesn’t require any large stretches. Start off by working on
the initial slide up to the first note of the riff. Once you’ve got that down you can get into the rest of the
riff. One extra tip is to use power chords for the last part instead of single notes. This is the way Metallica
plays it live.
Start off taking it slow. Focus on perfect execution and weed out any problem areas. Once you’ve got the
